Gartner Sales Survey Finds Nearly 90% of Sellers Feel Burned Out From Work Sellers Experiencing “Drag” Over “Drive” Have Higher Intent to Leave and Lower Quota Attainment"

“The development of natural impact”, that is our promise to professionals, organizations and leaders. The central skill in developing natural impact in complex organizations is the ability to connect and assign meaning in an endless stream of digital (AI) information. We express this movement in the lemniscate:

Gartner speaks of “Drag over drive” in the context of performance. But how do you develop drive? The development of natural impact forms the sustainable undercurrent of “drive”

Natural impact is not about tricks, but acting from your core, giving meaning, being visible, meeting at the boundary, knowing about your dream and your desires in order to make purposeful, conscious choices.

It is not without reason that complex organizations attach great importance to leadership principles. Giving direction to yourself and to the people you work with is a necessary quality in the often unnaturally organized partnerships of which we are part. As social beings, we need leadership and inspiration, to feel safe and from there to grow our own autonomy and achieve results.

Wortels in Werking guides teams, professionals and leaders in their journey to natural impact. Our programs and personal coaching focus on the development of teams and leadership, presentation and communication skills.

…'You have learned much and what you now have to find is the true resonance of your name'. When she had said this to him there was a moment of silence. He nodded and said: 'Okay, I have to find the resonance of my name. Tell me where to look for it'. She smiled and said: 'You have your own path to follow, your stories to tell and to listen to the stories of others. It is your task to find the true resonance of your name in your own way and to shape its meaning'. They were silent for a moment and looked at each other. Then he said goodbye to her and walked down the mountain lost in thought.

About me

After high school I left for the United States. In the Deep South, Alabama, life was all about sports, church and cruising at night. As part of the varsity basketball team we defended the honor of the school, the village, the community, an unprecedented experience. I also learned to switch off my body and pain, a very cool killer instinct on the field, but later in life I discovered that this also has its downsides.

When I returned to the Netherlands, I attended the VU in Amsterdam where I studied Economics. For the next 25 years, sales would become the red line in my working life. During my studies I sold suits in the store. Entrepreneurial adventures followed in hardware and software development. After returning to sales of Italian suits, I ended up at Microsoft where I would stay for 15 years in various (leadership) roles. From Microsoft, I started working as Chief Commercial Officer at FlexiDAO in Barcelona, an AI scale-up with Google and Microsoft as shareholders. Here I further set up the Sales and Delivery organization in EMEA and the US.

I have personally experienced the development of AI and hybrid working. The power and impact on business processes and people is unprecedented, both on the sunny and dark side, in work and private life. How to achieve impact in this is where my years of leadership experience and interest manifest themselves. I am trained as a professional supervisor in both individual and group processes. In addition, I am specifically trained as a presentation trainer/coach and freelance at Speechen.nl. Today I devote myself full-time to team and leadership development, communication and presentation training. The middle? How to achieve natural impact in a complex environment.
